Lately, I've been cutting back on buying and cooking more in the kitchen. While cooking, I often look down at my border collie, Rona, laying in the other room looking into the kitchen under the impression that I'm her personal chef. So with that look of longing I often wonder if the food I'm making is acceptable for her to eat. So with what I've learned I wanted to share a list of 40 things you can give your dog and 4 recipes/enhancements you can use to treat them to (always consult with a veterinarian when making changes to your dogs diet).
Carrots - both raw and cooked carrots are safe for dogs to eat. They are low in calories and a good source of vitamins, minerals & fibers
Eggs - both raw (in moderation) and cooked are safe for your dogs to eat. Providing protein for your dog
Salmon - cooked boneless Salmon is good for your dog to eat. Providing a great source of omega-3 fatty acids which are known to reduce inflammation
Blueberries - nutritious for dogs to eat. They are low in calories and provide a good source of vitamins, minerals & fibers
Popcorn - on occasion is safe for you dog to eat (no additional ingredients, low salt & low butter)
Pineapple - safe for dogs in moderation
Watermelon - safe for dogs in moderation
Bread - plain white and whole grain bread is safe for dogs to eat
Blackberries - frozen blackberries are a great treat
Corn - safe for dogs in moderation
Green Peas/Green Beans - low in calories and high in nutrients
Oatmeal - plain oatmeal in moderation is okay for you do go to eat
Apples - sliced apples are safe for dogs. Provide antioxidants and are high in fiber
Broccoli - safe for dogs in moderation
Chicken/Turkey/Beef/Pork/Lamb - boiled or broiled chicken with no added salt is healthy for your dog to eat
Sweet Potatoes/ Russet Potatoes - safe for dogs in moderation
Coconut - safe for dogs to consume. Provides skin/coat benefits
Mango - safe for dogs in moderation
Bananas - safe for dogs in moderation
Strawberries - safe for dogs in moderation

Portobello Mushrooms - safe for dogs in moderation (no additional ingredients)
Celery - safe for dogs in moderation
Shrimp/tuna - safe for dogs in moderation
Rice - safe for dogs in moderation
Rosemary - safe for dogs in moderation. Provides lots of fiber. It also has antifungal, antiallergenic, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties.
Basil - safe for dogs in moderation. Provides electrolytes and it has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effects
Aloe Vera - safe for dogs in moderation. Provides amino acids, iron, phosphorus, magnesium, zinc and other immune system boosters
Ginger - safe for dogs in moderation. This has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. This is a great herb to use when your pet experiences motion sickness or nausea.
Flax Seed - safe for dogs in moderation. Contain high amounts of Omega 3 fatty acids.
Parsley - safe for dogs in moderation. Provides antioxidants, fiber, vitamins & minerals. This is thought to fight against cancer and enhance organ functionality.
Turmeric - safe for dogs in moderation. Boosts cardiovascular health and it is thought to help to treat memory.
Mint - safe for dogs in moderation.
Cinnamon - safe for dogs in moderation. It is an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. It is thought to help with sepsis and diabetes.

Recipes & Enhancements
Banana Treats
Ingredients:
1/4 Cup of water
1 1/5 Cups of oat flour
2 mashed ripened bananas
1/8 cup of organic peanut butter
Mix
Put in silicone mold
Cook for 25 minutes at 350 degrees
Banana Peanut Butter Pupsicle
Ingredients:
1/4 cup of water
2 diced up ripened bananas
1/8 cup of organic peanut butter
1 tbl spoon of coconut oil
A dash of cinnamon
A pinch of oats
A spoonful of yogurt
Mix
Put in silicone mold
Freeze
Dry Food Toppers
Top with coconut water
Frozen raw salmon
A few slices of beets
Blueberries
Mashed sweet potato
A few slices of carrots
Best Kong Recipe
Start with creamy base - Yogurt, Peanut Butter, Pumpkin or Sweet Potato
Add favorite fruit or veggie to dice and put in the Kong
Add Hip & Joint supplement
Add freeze dried minnows in bone broth
Favorite smelly dog treat
Bone broth (organic and low sodium) to top off the Kong
Freeze for 4-6 hours
